Welcome
We appreciate your
interest in
Granite
Baptist
School,
a place that cares about your children. GBS was
established in 1975 out of a desire to provide a Christian education for our
church members and other Christian families. Since
then, our campus and student body have grown considerably, and we now have a
consistent enrollment exceeding 260 students in grades K4-12.
Each day begins
with the pledge to the American flag and prayer. The
textbooks used in our classrooms (A Beka/BJ Press) are of high academic quality and emphasize
our Christian heritage, traditional family values and patriotism.
We encourage you
to visit us and see first hand the excellent programs that are available for
your child.

development of Christian character by teaching proper respect for authority

Our K4/K5
Program
We offer your
child an enjoyable educational program in a warm, caring Christian
atmosphere. The K4 program includes Bible, foundational
skills in phonics and numbers, hand-writing, science, history, along with
music and art opportunities.
The K5 curriculum
is an advanced approach toward first grade readiness.
While fluent reading is not our first priority, many students are reading
very well by the end of the year. Students enjoy sharing
their own basic reading books with Mom and Dad after they have mastered them
in school. Daily Bible lessons, character building
stories, and Bible-memory is an important part of a kindergarten day.
Math training includes number concepts 1-100, addition, subtraction,
money value, and telling time. Science, social studies,
beginning elements of grammar, as well as music and art experiences are
included.
Elementary
Elementary school
offers a loving, caring, and disciplined learning environment.
Emphasis in the traditional program is placed on mastery of skills in
reading, language, math, and writing. Spelling, history,
science, geography, and physical education complete a well-rounded program.
Music offerings, art instruction, and fine arts competition enhance
the educational experience.
Junior
High
Grades 7 and 8
follow regular curriculum for these levels. The Biblical
emphasis and example of the faculty augment a strong academic program.
We offer security to young people at a time when they may feel
conflict between following the world or following the Lord.
High
School
Sharpening your
minds and building their testimonies to influence the world for Christ is
the heart beat of Christian education. Academic subjects
are presented within the framework of a Christian world view.
We offer a college prep. curricula.
In addition to core subjects, we offer higher level math and science
courses, computer science, accounting, and foreign languages. Upon
graduation, 85% of our students attend college.
Our
Strengths
There are things
that make
Granite
Baptist
School
stand out from the crowd.
A
Dedicated Faculty
Our faculty takes
very seriously their calling to the classroom. They
understand what a precious opportunity sits in front of them every day and
they provide vital input into the lives of their students, helping them
prepare for a lifetime. We're not just the typical
"faculty, staff, and students". We are a family.
We laugh together, cry together, pray together, and learn together.
Years after graduation, many of our alumni come back to see our ball
teams play, chat with the next generation of students, and even consult with
their former teachers about life issues.
Supportive Parents
Our parents don't
just sit there, they get involved. Whether it is
Grandparents' Day, Elementary Field Day, or even "Special Snack Day", our
parents are always willing to help and make our school a true family affair.
Sensitive Students
Our students have
a way of making you feel welcome as a new student.
Oftentimes, a new student will have several new friends by the end of their
first day. With as many diverse personality types as our
student body has you're sure to find a "bosom buddy" soon!
A Sound
Reputation
Many area churches
encourage their members to send their children to
Granite
Baptist
School.
Don't just take our word for it, read for yourself!
"For 13 years, it
was my privilege, pleasure, and priority to enroll my son in the ministry of
Granite Baptist Church School. The philosophy of GBCS was complimentary to
my philosophy as a pastor and parent, in that it was based upon the Word of
God."
Pastor

Church

"I heard a high
school student speak of how comfortable the other students made her feel.
In order for any student to excel in their studies, they must feel
accepted. I recommend GBCS."
