Senior Pastor Curtis King

My family and I moved to Glen Burnie in August of 2002.  We have had a wonderful time with the great people of Granite Baptist Church.

Before coming to GBC, I was in the youth ministry for nine years and pastored a church in Tennessee for five years after graduation from college.

My wife's name is Janet.  We were married December 19, 1987.  I am the most blessed man in the world to have such a supportive wife.  If you ask anyone in the Church what they think of her, you will probably hear one word..."sweet."

God has blessed us with four beautiful children; Curt (1989), Alyssa (1991), Bethany (1993), and Joseph (1997).

February 26, 1978, was the greatest day of my life.  It was the day that I realized that my sin was an offense to God (Rom 3:23, 6:23).  I understood that Jesus had paid my sin debt (Rom. 5:8) and that I should humble my heart before God, trust in his death, burial and resurrection, and ask the Lord to forgive me and save me (Rom 10:13).  That day, Jesus came into my life and saved my soul.  The old song says, "what a wonderful change in my life has been wrought since Jesus came into my heart."

If you have not been saved, why not look up the verses I just mentioned.  Pray and ask Jesus to come into your life, forgive you of all your sin and save your soul.  It will be the greatest decision you will ever make.

May the Lord richly bless you.

Come see us!

Pastor William Townsend

Presently serving as assistant pastor, overseeing our Senior Adult Ministry and hospital visitation, it is a joy to serve the Lord and witness His hand of blessing upon the Granite Baptist Church ministries.  After eight years of teaching instrumental music in public schools and then attending and graduating from Grand Rapids Baptist Seminary, I ministered in Meadville, PA for 19 years as assistant pastor, interim pastor, and then school administrator.  The Lord prepared the way and opened the door for my family and I to come to Granite in September of 1995.  My wife, Marje, who has been teaching for over 24 years, teaches third grade at GBS.  The Lord has blessed us with five wonderful children and twelve grandchildren.

For further information about our Senior Adult Ministry, please stop by my office, call, or send me an email.

Pastor John Sharff

Before entering the ministry, I served as a police officer with the Baltimore County Police Department for 14 years. As a policeman, I was able to see, on a regular basis, the dire need for Christ in people’s lives. I answered the call of God to the Gospel Ministry in September of 1995. After graduating from Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Florida, I had the privilege of serving with Pastor King on the pastoral staff at Church of the Open Door in Westminster, Maryland. I came to Granite as Outreach Pastor in June of 2005 with my wife Beth, who is the bookkeeper at Granite, and our four children, Emily, Luke, Angela, and Julie. It is truly a joy to serve the Lord at a church where folks have a passion for spreading the Gospel of Christ throughout the Glen Burnie area. If you are interested in more information about the outreach ministries here at Granite, I would encourage you to stop by my office, call, or email me so we can discuss the ministry that is right for you.

Pastor Brent Gragg

Pastor Brent came to Granite in 2007 to serve as our Children's Pastor.  He came from Westminster's Church of the Open Door where he was involved in Children's Ministries for the past nine years.  He is a graduate of Bethany Baptist College and taught high school Bible at Carroll Christian School for five years.  Pastor Gragg and his wife, Brandi, were married in 2002 and have two beautiful children, Brooke and Brody.

Ryan Kolmus

Ryan has served as our Church Music Director since June, 2007.  He has a degree in music education from Millersville University.  He currently teaches music and band in the Anne Arundel County Public Schools.  His wife Christina is the music teacher for Granite Baptist School.   Both are helpers in Granite's Youth Ministry.
